Buckwheat good for life
Buckwheat is a very old plant. It originates from South-East Asia and from there it has spread to China, India, Japan, Europe and North America. At first it was very popular but as time passed it lost this popularity and was virtually forgotten about.
Today interest in buckwheat is again increasing and not just amongst vegetarians. A lot of products now include milled, hulled and non-hulled buckwheat. These flakes are very tasty and crunchy and create a new dimension to muesli and breakfast cereal mixes. SEMIX has chosen to produce buckwheat flakes because of their high nutritional value. Buckwheat is known for the high-level of rutin in its seeds and leaves. Rutin plays an important role in maintaining the human body in good condition. It supports the elasticity of the vascular walls and improves the state of varicose veins. Ascorbic acid intensifies the effects of rutin and this helps prevent thrombosis, heart attacks and strokes. Buckwheat contain sterols which reduce absorption of cholesterols from foods and also has a high content of poly unsaturated fatty acids which reduce blood cholesterol levels. Buckwheat is also a significant source of minerals (zinc, copper, selenium, manganese) and vitamins (B1, B2, E). « back to the list |
